    Re: Dawn Sowell

She definitely had a great unrealized future (and was indeed good enough to be ranked No. 2 in the world in both sprints by us), but don't be too mesmerized by the "10.78": that was a high-altitude time (Provo) as was her 200 PR of 22.04.

At sea-level she was "only" a 10.91/22.46 performer.

    Re: Dawn Sowell

Back in 1989 Dawn Sowell was the 'new hot girl in the sprint wars'for that year. She ended up being ranked #2 in the world. But unfornately she went off to europe and competed in several grand prix events, got hurt, due to her experience and youth, she did not know when to pull out of the tour. She had gotten married and moved to another state (now I don't remember which state) changed her coaching situation from Loren Seagrave to unknown??/ Losted her sponsorship, repeated leg injuries. I too often wondered what might she had acomplish if she had stayed in the sport. She was the bomb!

I see Dawn's name in the record books (10.78s for 100mts). But what happened to her. Why did she not make it in the big leagues? Anyone remember?
