Yeah, ask him what happened to his S's. Didn't he used to be Stanislavs Olijars?

No, he has always been Stanislav Olijar (unless he's spelt his own name wrong on his website.... http://www.stanislavolijar.from.lv/ )

Don't know how long his website has been in operation, but in the ATFS Annuals through 2001 he was Stanislavs Olijars.

Lots of minor name changes in people from former Soviet Republics as their heritage slowly comes to the fore.

but not in the 2002 Edition. I looked it up before I headed into work today. The whole write-up on the 110s lists him sans S's.

IAAF lists him with the S's, whereas Tilastopaja lists him without. Seeing as it's spelt without the S's on his own website, then I'd say it's Stanislav Olijar

                Re: Stanislav Olijar...

When he ran at South Carolina (what, you don't remember him as a teammate of Terrence Trammell in ’99?!) he was Stanislavs Olijars.

Since he was born in Chelyabinsk, perhaps that reflects the Russification of a Latvian name. Or vice-versa!
