I'd suggest some walking today and then evaluate each day to see where the soreness stands...

I'd bet you'll feel this till april....

knock down a few powerbars and gatorade too...

        that's what I do....

don't run until the major soreness goes away

You probably want to avoid going up and down hills. If and when you do run, wait until you are comfortable doing so and then through in some quicker stuff (but very brief - 10 to 30 seconds at a time) to work a range of motion. You should have more range of motion if you are a sprinter; don't lose it.

Congratulations on your race. I second the hot tubbing suggestion. Walking at a moderate pace, and drinking lots of fluids are also good ideas. Again, good job.

it will if you don't re-coop...don't run too soon....you need to re-coop.....at least 2 weeks.....then some easy running...

think positive, peter snell ran a world record 144.3 800 meters just 6 weeks after running a marathon.

walk backward down steps. must less pain that way.
