as a subscriber of track and field news going on 30 years, i understand the magazine has to put people who sell magazines on the cover to stay in business, i love this magazine, i dont care if you put alan webb on the cover every month for 20 years if it keeps the magazine in business, however there should be some acknowledgement of the athlete of the month based on merritt, since t dibaba earned it last month and did not get recognizition she deserves, if she wins a double at world x country she should at least get the inside poster. this girl is 19 years old, okay some will argue africans fake their age, but she looks closer to 15 than 19, she is something special, i believe sub 14 for 5k, sub 29 for 10k and sub 212 in the marathon are in her future, not this year but in 5-10 years.

All, marketing concerns aside, setting a WR in an event that's not even on the World Champs program pales behind Merritt's 44.93 in my book. Add in the 20.40 and he's miles ahead of her in the mythical AOM competition.Comment

i wonder who will be on next months cover? kerron clement with his amazing 44.57 indoors. wallace spearmon for his 20.10, or someone else, i say clement making it 3 400 meter runners in a row, although clement is known more for the 400 hurdles.Comment
