honestly, if he was in D1 i would throw Trell Kimmons in there as the winner in the 60 meter

he ran a 6.55 in juco national championships with no competition. put him in there with tyson gay ,blayton, dix , all those boys and he runs a 6.50 guaranted!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Not many brave souls took this on, esp. considering that it's easier to beat the house when it's list leaders, rather than real favorites. Be that as it may, here are the Day 1 standings:

                        Jnathletics +2
                        tafnut +1
                        MJD even
                        silva -2
                        Tvarish -2

He may do just fine at even - I just blew the Hep (or rather - Kilmartin blew it!)

MJD, in a brilliant move of minimalist strategy (only pick distance events and go with the Canadians!) wins the Challenge

                              MJD +1
                              tafnut even
                              Jnathletics even
                              [slow coach even] !!
                              silva -1
                              Tvarish -4

Have there ever been a championships like this, where the list leaders were so often the favorites also?

On a personal note, I'm so glad a spent an hour doping out the meet so I could finish no better than the 'list leaders', and even that was cheating cuz wHJ was really won by a co-list leader, or else I would have been -1!
