Do they usually go for South America or Asia? :-)
I think Marlon Brando was there for awhile and was replaced by Star Jones. Dunno who is there now!

Antartica. Then they will have plenty of ice for the mixers.

Cablevision Sues M.T.A. Over Railyards Decision
In a continuation of the bitter fight over rights to develop the West Side railyards, Madison Square Garden filed a lawsuit today against the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, accusing it of violating "open and fair" legal requirements when it decided last week to sell development rights to the Jets.
Madison Square Garden is owned by Cablevision Systems Corporation, whose $400 million offer was rejected by the transit board in favor of a lower bid by the Jets.

Jets win railyard bid.

The Mayor and Governor both appoint a large continent on the MTA Board, which woted on this issue. Pretty much a foregone conclusion (i.e. if they want to keep their jobs, they do the "right thing").

Belive it or not, I think the Jets' winning of this bid may open some IOC eyes, and change some hearts and votes. And as the time counts down to July, it may be closer than one may think.
But if NYC doesn't get the bid, I'll take the Jets, Super Bowl XLV and a Final Four. 3 outta four ain't bad!

Prediction: If the Jets do win this bid, look for a New York upset win over frontrunner Paris for the Olympic bid. You heard it here!!!!!!!!

He's still mad Steinbrenner wouldn't sell him the Yankees, so he kept them off TV for months, and he lost to Woody Johnson (gotta be one of the greatest porn names of all-time) when the Jets were sold by the Hess family.

Re: Cablevision outbids the Jets.....
I have Time Warner Cable, due to the area in Brooklyn that I'm in. I have friends who have Cablevision, and it stinks.
I haven't been getting MSG and Fox Sports for the past 3 weeks due to Cablevision's feud w/Time Warner.
There were plenty of alternative offers to Cablevision in the stadium battle. And Dole Man turned them all down. A buyout of the Garden by the Jets....turned down! An offer by the City to build a new Garden on the Post Office grounds (Feds want to get rid of that building QUICK!)....turned down!
Due to a selfish CEO, All hopes for an Olympic bid, Super Bowl and Final Four are right down the drain!!!!!!!!!

The stadium is not going to be built. New York football is still the property of New Jersey.

Re: Cablevision outbids the Jets.....
The MTA is not bound to take the highest bidder in this case, but is required to consider the most appropriate and best use of the resources that they are selling. The Jets will win this bid. Cablevision is also risking getting pounded by the Mayor and Governor to the point where their illegal monopoly of cable tv subscribers (the only thing that company makes money on anymore) in the NY suburbs will be taken away from them in retaliation for interfering in this process.
Here is a wonderful article on the subject where James Dolan gets called "the scourage of NY sports" and "chairman, president and chief executive officer of the lucky sperm society".
