    Re: Gebs out of london

The greatest thrills of my last decade of track viewing have, without question, come from watching him at his peak. He IS really special, and Bekele has a long, long way to go to match his achievements...

hes pretty special. the world indoor 1500 champ could set the world mark in the marathon.

you know when we might see that again? lets just say monkeys will be flying out of a place they are not known for flying out of!

I know. You're not alone in believing that he's got massive WR potential... It's just a bit humorous that 2:06:35 (in his case) doesn't really count for squat.

That was his first serious marathon. if you look at most of the great marathoners i think youll see they dont run their best one first. that and the absolute belief by me that gebs got a 2:03 in him if he can train just for that race for a year.

Well, of course, he did run a 2:06 and change, but--as we know--that's a worthless time nowadays.

    Gebs out of london

i was just thinking that geb is in the part of his running life where injuries can creep up. its an achelles-sp? i think it would be really sad if he doesnt get at least one chance to see what he can do over 26 miles.
Working...
