I posted this yesterday and no one even looked at it. I guess this is one of the reasons why college dual meets died. Even track nuts are more interested in times and marks than competition. I, for one, miss the old dual meets.

Eugene Register Guard says hard to get people to pay attention in person too, unfortunately.

The attendance of 2,667 at the Pepsi Team Invitational at Hayward Field this past Saturday was the smallest in the 16 years of the event.

It was only the third time that the four-way meet has failed to attract at least 3,000 spectators. The high-water mark came in the meet's first season when 6,149 watched Oregon battle Texas, Tennessee and Washington State.>>
