Yvette Lewis : Diamond In The Rough (TJ)

I saw the final result of the women's triple jump
at the Sea Ray Relays and Hampton's Yvette Lewis
won with a leap of 42-4 3/4 inches and I feel
that while it would be a stretch to say that she
would make it to the NCAA's for this event
but look out for her for the next two years
by then she should have made a name for herself
and maybe she'll be in the 2012 olympics in the
big apple.To all of you female triple jumpers
be on the lookout for Yvette Lewis from Hampton
U.because she is a diamond in the rough.

Always good to be positive about young athletes but the top American last year was 89cm/3ft behind the world leader.

That is a long way to climb for somebody already jumping 47-5 (U.S. Leader) much less 42 and change.

Some serious development has to happen for the U.S. to be competitive in the women's TJ.

I know that Rome was not built in a day
but she is on her way to bigger and better things!
