  • Mt. SAC webcast

Well, it was nice of them to try, but obviously they needed more bandwith or server capacity, or whatever the computer term is. I can't get on because it is "serving too many streams," according to the alert message.

I had that problem this morning (+9 hours) when everyone there should have been asleep. Haven:t been able to get in.

I must be one of the chosen few :-)

Don't worry - you're not missing anything at the moment. just a load of boys and girls distance medley relays and the odd HS field event.

Try again. I just got in.

Streaming media servers (software component) usually have a fixed number of connections based on the licensing model that was purchased.

edit - on fifth try I'm in.

Is that Scott Davis's voice I'm hearing over the PA?

Probably, -- SD usually emcees the meet.

                    Re: Mt. SAC webcast

I believe Scott has withdrawn almost completely from the announcing role at Mt. SAC, being too busy as the meet director

Just watching a little now - the announcers are fantastic. They call all the HSers by name and give all the splits, both single and cumulative! What a herculean effort. I notice now that they tag-team it.

The video is actually pretty good quality for a webcast. I remember watching the last Euro champs on the BBC -- or trying to, anyway -- and it was completely useless. Nothing but blurry images.
