I was reading on here that the discus is a "feel" thing. Last night I threw a 97-4 and when I let go of it I felt like I had throw a paper plate. The discus came out of my hand correctly and actually looked "pretty" while in flight. Only thing I wonder is how many throws are too many? I threw about 30 last night. Not all with the spin. Some up to the end of the circle working on the weight transfer from leg to leg. This discus thing is getting to be fun and somewhat addictive when done correctly. Now if I was more consistent when the shot put.

Re: Discus PR for me last night
Well done on the pr, I used to find that the best throws felt the easiest, well until I gave up for 10 years, now when I have no technique the best throws are the ones that hurt the most.
Number of throws - John Powell in the Dr Disc part of his video mentions when Ludvik Danek came to his town. John asked what it took to throw far, the answer was 10,000 throws a year which equates to 50 throws a session, 4 times a week.
You can get the Powell and Wilkins videos from http://www.mfathletic.com/
The best throws discussion board is

The best links section on the net (if I do say so myself) is

Dan's a nice guy and has some great stuff on his site.
