  • Randy Huntington FINALLY lands Div. I coaching job

You'd think the coach of Mike Powell, Willie Banks and other world-class jumpers would be a shoo-in for any track opening at a major U.S. college. Not so.

Randy Huntington has been hitting his head against a brick wall for years.

His struggles appear to be over, though. Michigan State has hired him as an assistant coach:

    I'm thrilled for Randy.

Same here. Can't believe he hadn't been snapped up before now.

I had a chance to work with him in '96. A really nice guy and knowledgeable coach. Congrats, Randy.

Likewise, I look forward to another great talent in the Big 10 (UW having just imported a lot of MSU talent this last year).

What took this guy so long to find a head coaching
job if he coached world class athletes?
