  • world's tv mishap ?

there is still no tv for the first three days of the world championships according to the espn and abc tv listings and the usatf site. that means we will NOT get to watch the men's and women's 100 meters. is that possible ? judging from the fact abc failed to show the men's 100 final on the same day in 2001 (because their coverage ended an hour before that), nothing is impossible with these tv morons !!!

      Slightly off topic but...

I've compiled all the various posts and press releases on T&F TV schedules into a single page. Thanks for all who posted bits and chunks to the message board. Additions and corrections are gladly accepted.

It's available from the link below or the front page of the site.

most of us dont have that option, plus i would rather watch them on a us network as much as ridiculous this sounds.
i still dont understand why abc does not have any coverage the first weekend, what else could they be showing ? also why does espn have live coverage for four week days, but no coverage at all the day of the men's 100 meter final. i dont understand that !

Believe it or not, the Little League World Series is that weekend, and ABC gets fairly good ratings for that show. Thus, the WC 100m gets trashed. C'est la vie.

It's my understanding that the first show will recap the first 4 days. I know, whoop-de-doo! But it does mean that the 100s won't be consigned to the trash heap, so if you want them for your library, you'll still have them. Be thankful for small favors. I'm also told that show may show more than once.

              small favors ???
who is making a favor for whom ?
if they think that showing four days of coverage in one day is coverage of an event then they are demented. if they can show synchro swimming and diving worlds every day that they have this week, then the can show every day of track and field too. the disney channels suck, i would rather have nbc and turner show the events tape delayed, at least we get to see them the same day (and we dont miss the 100 meters either)

                Re: world's tv mishap ?

In the hour before ESPN's Golden Gala program, I witnessed a new low: poker! A bunch of fat old men sitting around a table playing poker! Now there's a sport. And my wife tells me that it's on regularly during weekdays. Who on God's green earth would want to watch that c**p?

ESPN has been showing poker for years. Several other channels do as well.

BTW, the "E" in ESPN stands for Entertainment...

Yes, but now every time you switch to ESPN they are showing poker. Even more than bass fishing and power sawing contests.

All the networks suck when it comes to T&F coverage. The worst one ever is the CBS's NCAA Championship. True laugh-a-lympics. Remember the cartoon? Identical!
