    Re: Question about Webb

    >I have no feelings good or bad about Women's
    >track. I admit US women distance runners are
    >better than their US male contempories. This is
    >really not news to anyone.

    The press is bias
    >towards male athletics. Why is Alan Webb getting
    >more press than our world class women
    >milers?
Wouldn't you say Jacobs and Hamilton had
    >a better season than Webb?>

I think you're confusing message boards with the press.

I am talking about the press primarily.

Sullivan's 3:50 mile PR is faster than Kru's 3:54.x mile PR. This makes Sullivan faster. "Could have" doesn't work in Track.
        Sullivan's 1500 PR is also faster than Kru's 1500 PR. 3:31:74 Kru 3:31:91

Kevin Sullivan is the fastest miler .

While we are on the subject who are the fastest non-africans over the middle distances, and how quick have they run. Is Cram still the only sub 3.30 man.

'92 Olympic champ Fermín Cacho from Spain ran 3:28.95 in 1997. Cram ran 3:29.67 in 1985.

Also, Seb Coe ran 3:29.77 (albeit it was on the Rieti track, considered by many to be short - many of the performances set there over the years have been suspiciously good).

                Re: Question about Webb

Are Canadian milers gaining a upper hand on their US counterparts? Actually, Sullivan is basically carrying Canadian miling all by himself.

When is anyone from North America going to break a 3:50 mile. This current crop of US distance runners is invisible on the international stage.

The US national championship mile race was a disgrace.

Lets hope Jason Pyrah can get in shape before the next Olympic games. At least he made an Olympic final. I am glad Krummenacker is showing sense by switching over to the 1500 after this year.

Pyrah? Pyrah? You're kidding right? Might was well hope Jamie Harris comes out of retirement. Both are lost causes.

Nathan and his 1:46.00 PB got beat by a couple of guys with 1:45.xy PBs. This is a sub-par performance how?

Does anyone know how Webb's recovery is going.

What are his plans this fall.

It is amazing but Alan Webb has not run faster than a 3:58 in the last two years!!

Not to mention the fact that he just defended his 800 indoors at the NCAAs.
