One of the announcers hinted that, fine-tuning for Worlds, Geb may have been sandbagging: Soften the other guys up, let 'em think you're vulnerable. Then when the gun goes off next month in Paris, put the hammer down.
Last week Szabo said she didn't care about winning, she just wanted to see what shape her kick is in. (And it's superb. Gabi you're a goddess!) This week she began moving on the final turn, then let off. Could she have won? Absolutely, but not if it might've meant jeopardizing her soundness for Paris.
