  • qualifying for worlds

I have a question about how our athletes qualify for the world (and Olympic?) championships. In the 1500 both Lunn and Berryhill have the "B" standard; Lunn won the national meet. If Berryhill gets the "A" standard does he get to go to worlds, or can he only go if both he and Lunn get the "A" standard?I know that to send more than one athlete they all need the "A" standard, but does getting the "A" time trump winning the USATF meet? If it doesn't, should it? Should our objective be to send our national champs or to send our best athletes (if they aren't one and the same)? Thanks for any insight you can offer.
