    Re: ATTN Walt Murphy

    >>Mr. Media Production Guy suddenly
    >has to cower behind . . . Some may say such kowtowing is worth it . . . smacks of arrogance . . . Rather than expect us to kneel
    >down and kiss your pinky ring<<

A- in composition; C- in tone. You accuse him of being supercilious, but then you bring it back in spades. Is this how we try to 'win friends and influence people'? Your powers of persuasion leave something to be desired.

I would consider formally responding to your query, but I'd like to know with whom I am speaking.

'JL', this is PC. PC, 'JL'.

I really do think you're making a mountain out a a molehill (C- for cliche). I think WM just wanted some background, so when he took it up the line, he could say whence came the request.

          Dear Twit,
I have no idea why you've become so obsessed with my reasonable request for the writer, who addressed me directly on this board, to identify himself.

For those who still care, I will address Philip's concerns and other TV-related issues, but it will have to wait until the World Championships are over. And, despite Twit's characterizations, I'm really a loveable guy(-:

Track fan first, TV guy second

Before you go, what will we see on Pax? The Eurofeed with Ami announcers watching tape?

              Re: ATTN Walt Murphy

For what it's worth, Walt Murphy seems a perfectly nice guy in person.

I think I share TD's frustration about televised meets, but thankfully internet sources are getting better all the time.

Bottom line, though, I'd rather watch sixty minutes of bad televised track tied to the couch with my eyes held open with forks and no batteries in the remote than to read thru self-indulgent personal remarks and insults on this forum. It's not at all entertaining and I'm glad Murphy doesn't rise to the bait. Stay classy, Walt!

The PAX shows will be directed towards an American "sports" audience. Most of the commentary will be provided by the IAAF's Steve Ovett, Shaun Pickering, and Peter Matthews, with Carol Lewis participating in a couple of race calls. Lewis Johnson is in Helsinki and will do some pre- and post-race interviews, and Dan O'Brien will offer comments on the multi-events. (Carol and Dan are part of the IAAF's world feed team). Dwight Stones will be sort of a traffic cop in the studio, leading to events, offering comments, etc.

Some (but not all) of the distance races will get decent coverage, but that's what the webcast is for.

                Enjoy!

P.S. CSTV will air the IAAF's 1-hour highlight show each night (different than the PAX shows). Check your local listings.

Fortunately for her, the Suits have never even heard of this site.
