  • What happened to Obea Moore?

Hi, Im runner from Slovakia and I was fascinated like many of you with the time Bolt achieved. Before visiting this website Ive never heard about Obea Moore. I just cant believe, how fast this kid was!!! His times for 400m, but also for 200m and 800m (not only acording to his age) are amazing. Can you tell me what happened to him? I have done some searching on web, found out that he really never improved after his 45.13 performance. Was he injured than and stopped with running? Or what happened to him? If anyone of you know something about his story, please can you write down some infos about him, his career and about what happened to him? Thank you a I wish to all of you all the best + a lot of HEALTH. Andy

Go to Trackshark.com, and contact them.I heard he got mix up with the wrong crowd and kind of vanished from the cface of the earth.I agree, he had some fast times, and he just sort of disappeared.

Go to the Historical Forum about wasted talents, greatest high school athletes, and high school 400m runners...there's been lots of chat about him.

wow, that is a really good article. It would be cool if he were to become recomitted to the sport and add into our stable.

He is physically shot and mentally shot. The best for him would be to try coaching

he had a result early this season (or maybe last, if my sense of time is totally off) which was discussed, i believe on this forum

i recall it being 49-ish in an open 400?

Yes, I've heard that is the secret of coaching actually!

I don't know too much about Obea Moore, but I'm glad to hear from a fellow Slovak. My wife and I will be visiting Slovakia for three weeks starting on the 15th of September. We've been there twice before(2000 & 2002). We were very impressed with the progress since the "Velvet Divorce) from the Czech Republic. Do videnia!

I too thought it was last season, but it turns out that it was actually two seasons ago that Moore 'cameback'...he ran 47.87 in Claremont in 2002 sometime in May...

                              http://departments.oxy.edu/athletics/tr ... vite04.htm

Just this year he ran the 800 at Oxy. 1:58.32

He looked out of shape, but was very smooth and fluid. He looks like he could still run fast times.
