    Re: Karpov out of decathlon

Clay and the others in Heat 4 get a lucky break in the Decathlon 100m.... instead of the Low tail winds the others got (+1.2) they got a +3.2!!!!!!

IMHO, you don't jump twice unless you don't really want to be there. Or, in 1988, three times (Juergen?).

              Re: Mens decathlon WC2005

Gotta feel bad for Karpov, especially as it now seems the equipment was at fault

Clay great Shot, i thought Roman would have clawed him back in that event

I see that the extrapolation people already have Seberle well clear of Clay in the end - we'll see . . .

I presume you are talking about me ;-)

its gonna be a very close finish i think... one slip up by either of them and i think its over..
Clay did well in the Shot where i thought he would lose ground.....
                  its gonna be exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Clay out at 2.03 (made 2.00) and Seberle still going after clear at 2.06. That'll cost Clay plenty.

50+ points, probably enough for Roman to get his nose in front by 25 points

Did they not stop the HJ due to the weather?
What would they do when it resume?

                          Tough situation.

In my ONE decathlon (at age 41) I found the hardest part to be the RE-warming up for every event. (Actually getting out of bed for Day Two was the hardest part). This delay will help Clay, cuz Seberle will be iced for continuing in the HJ.

                              I thought Karpov clearly jumped.

Do they ever have track in domed stadiums? A drag that the weather plays such a huge role. Klüft vs. Barber in 200. In today's 200 heats, a +4.3 heat followed directly by a -2.1, a difference of 6.4--with qualifying for time. Clay getting break in 100, then having to take his last jump at 2.03 in pouring rain.
