Moreno's 72.67m was the furthest throw in qualification. 70m was the auto qualifier, but only five women got that mark (Moreno, Lysenko, Skolimowska, Kuzenkova, Montebrun). Erin Gilreath is the only USA'nian through to the final.

Other qualifiers include: Mihaela Melinte, Clarissa Claretti, Zhang Wenxiu, Iryna Sekachova, Susanna Keil, and Candice Scott.

Notable casualties: Olga Tsander (76.66m PB - my ass!), Jennifer Joyce, Yunaika Crawford, Gu Yuan, Ester Balassini, Betty Heidler, Yekaterina Khoroshikh, Kathrin Klaas.

Tsander has never done anything in a major championship - and she's been throwing far at home for a few years now...
And 66.73 was enough to make the cut - how'bout that?
