Carolina Klüft of Sweden led the world rankings in the heptathlon last year with the worst top score in decades, catching the event at a down part.
She's now en route here--if i may be so bold after two events--to have one of the highest scores in decades. PRs in both the hurdles and the HJ. Two PRs in the HJ, in fact, 1.91 and 1.94. And on her third jump at 1.97 this morning she had the height for 2-meters (6-6 3/4) plus, was just too far into the pit.
If she simply tacks on her marks from earlier this year, she's over 6800pts. If she continues to PR at the same % rate (which isn't uncommon in a big-meet multi PR) she's over 7000. And she's awesome w/ the crowd, even though they're 110% behind Barber. Really thrilling stuff.
