Any impact of False Start Rule?

Can the slow winning time in the men's 100m really be attributed to the new false start rule? Below are the final marks with reaction times for the past 4 major Men's 100m championships. I also averaged the reaction time for each final. As you can see, this year's final had the fastest average reaction time of the past 4 championship 100meters. Are reaction times a proper gauge for determining the impact/non-impact of the rule or am I missing something? Any thoughts?

First, I am not all that keen on every competition having to be a record setting performance. In sprints that is less of an issue since the all out nature lends to "honest" records (unlike rabbited distance racing).

Second, I would say that Jon thinks the new rule affects the race.

I just think the rule is really ridiculous. My bet is that the rule will be changed back at the next meeting of the rules folks.

I agree 100%.....I would prefer to go with the old rule, 2 false starts. But I would accept a 1 false rule as in college and HS over what they have now.

I agree... if IAAF doesn't like the 2 false start rule, then don't allow any false starts. Is it really fair that the 1st person to false start gets away with it but the others don't?

If I knew my start wasn't as good as my competitors, I'd be the first to false start in every race. That way, the rest of the field might not try to get out as fast.

There probably will be an impact on this rule. However, after JD's disgusting performance at this event, I'd like to remove his USA uniform from his body. More ridicule for the good old USA! Who wants to watch this on national TV. We wonder about the lack of representation. I turned it off! You wouldn't see MJ pulling a stunt like that. He was a class act and a credit to our country's track team.

The reason thatthe average RT's(and the majority of RT's) were so slow because the starter was standing far away from the athletes.
Only JD and Ato had RT's under 0.15s because they have the fastest natural reactions to the gun.

The false start rule is rubbish and should be reversed.
