USATF Athlete of the Week

We've quibbled over non-elite selections in the past, but I'm more than willing to go along with this choice:

"Williams named Athlete of the Week
INDIANAPOLIS - Sgt. 1st Class Joseph Williams has been named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week following his victory Sunday in the Honolulu Marathon satellite race in Iraq."

What do you mean non-elite?. He broke 3 hours, didn't he? This too easily impressed crowd thinks that is elite when it comes to the marathon.

Jeez - ANYBODY can run a 2:25 marathon - 3 hours is crawling!!
