Perhaps that is your take, but a little drama, a little fun, and even maybe a little exploitation is not so bad. That picture says 1000 words about the young women competing in the event.
It has been awhile since we have seen such drama. Cocky young runners (in the spirit of the Prefrontaine Olympic call) now connect across national borders. I think these young runners have the backs of the international class runners who proceded them and they are not afraid to put it out there.
I think this is a good time to be a runner.

If Fosbury didn't "flop", the race wasn't called a "miracle mile", and the young man with the incredible attack wasn't an "American Indian", would the story have been the same - would it have reached so many people?
I think that there is no shame in calling attention to incredible acts of talent and will, achieved by teams or individuals, using reporting methods that attract a wider audience. It would be a shame if unique accomplishements went unnoticed by the greater public.

Originally posted by RMcI note that all but one of the athletes falling is blonde, and only one of those still running is blonde. Hmmm....
(and I was once blonde myself, very much younger....)
