COngrats to Tom Pappas for a great win in the decathlon! I'm surprised that nobody has said anything as of yet (we sure have a lot of "experts" wailing about what's wrong in the sport)

Back to the decathlon; why was Paul Turek DQ'd from the highs? He'd have been right in the hunt for the bronze had this not happened.

There are some positives in US Track & Field, lets praise them as examples to follow and build the sport up rather than tearing it down.

Props to Tom Pappas! Great job! There were some props given Tom on another thread, too.

Great job from Pappas, and kudos to T&F News for picking him for their last cover. Guess there is no T&FN curse (a la Sports Illustrated).

He'll likely be on now dooming him for Athens.

I am very impressed with the (many) people who picked him to win (not me). I thought Seberle was a level above. I even thought Dvorak might beat Pappas. What a great day for American Decathloning! Frank Z, where are you?

Terek appeared to be slightly injured at the start of the 110s. It looked like couldn't quite get his lead leg all the way up and somewhat deliberately hit about every hurdle.

The article above mentioned Pappas' website. Does anybody have the URL for it?

It's supposed to be http://www.decatom.com but it seems to be down right now.
