      I know ! It's Ethel Catherwood. She won the High Jump in 1928 at 5" 2 1/2".

        Just watched it on the CBC. Ovett must be hanging around the Canucks too much. He got so excited that he started making funny noises and couldn't talk. Michael Smith and Don Wittman were "just the facts".

            Which Canadian field event Olympic finalist (and Pan-Am gold medalist) is the mother of a basketball player with a handful of NBA championship rings?

            (and of course I knew Ethel Catherwood)

                        Here's a hint about her son: he did a stint on a TV show in which the character he played may soon have quite the relevance to a certain teammate of the son. And it ain't a pretty picture.
