  • Boston 2-mile line-up

The line-up is looking very strong indeed. It features three-time world and Olympic silver medallist, Sileshi Sihine, world 5000m bronze medallist, Craig Mottram, 26:30 guy, Abebe Dinkessa plus Gebre Gebremariam and Markos Geneti so Ethiopians play a large part in the race. Hwo do you think your guys will get on? My prediction is 1-Sihine, 2 Mottram, 3 Dinkessa.

The women's mile is looking strong with a good couple of Ethiopians and a dozen of capable Americans.

The Boston folks are really to be congratulated on putting together such an exciting field...

I was hoping it would be on Eurosport but at least we get the Karlsruhe Indoors.

The men's 600 metres looks interesting too.

That is a stacked race! It'll be fun. It's so up in the air, but I'll go with:

        1. Mottram (fast miler, good kick, always trying to prove himself)
        2. Dinkessa (strong, strong, strong)
        3. Sihine (consistent and fast, but not the speed or strength of the other two)

Plenty of room here for disagreement! 3:48 guy, 26:30 guy, and consistently best non-Bekele runner in the world.

Markos Geneti is definitely worth an each-way bet. If there's going to be a spoiler, look for him to be the culprit.

I suppose you can't rule him out. He beat Bekele in Birmingham last year although we know Bekele was going through a rough time and Haile the year before.

Was Gebrmariam injured last year? He looked rubbish in the Helsinki 10k.

that's just because the shinester has never been in near wr 10k race to get anywhere near his potential !

he has a 26'39pb when outkicking geb in hengelo in '04, but that became a tactical race towards the end

                          if a peak shinester can't go 26'20 - 26'30 in a wr attempt set up just for him, then i'm a monkey's uncle !

Elders, in this case, however, he is still not in peak shape...

so woud the others be ? :P

ok mottram may be, as he's got melbourne coming up , but i can't see any reason for shinester to be at any different stage of his "fitness" from anyone else in that field not going to cg
