Of note, there was a large party held a few days ago for Usain Bolt. Videos shows a lot of dancing and singing and close contact and no masks. One of the people who posted videos has tried to claim the video was from a year ago, but apparently the song they were dancing to was only released a few months ago, and there are other videos from other people at the same party. There was a big controversy about this even before he tested positive.
Fingers crossed that no one else tests positive and that Usain Bolt's party does not become a super spreader event...

Valentin Lavillenie tested positive a few days ago, forcing him to have to pull out of Monaco. Update on his Instagram today says he is still symptom-free and that he is hoping his next test is negative so he can return to pole vaulting.

A female sprinter tested positive at a training camp in Poland. As a result, everyone training at the same training center had to be put in quarantine, so a number of athletes including JTers Maria Andrejczyk and Marcelina Witek couldn't compete today as they planned.

News breaks on Saturday that WVN tests positive
Saturday morning, his agent says everyone is healthy and trained well
Samaai says everyone in the group tested negative 4 times in 14 days.
No one from the group except Antonio Alkana competes at the meet on Sat afternoon/evening
Saturday night WVN 2nd test comes up negative
I would guess that when his agent said "We will have the test results this morning as we all got tested again yesterday [Friday]." that test probably came back positive which is what was reported. The article quoting Samaai seems to be a quote either before that final test result came back or even earlier. He says "See you in Trieste!” meaning they had (likely) not left for the meet yet. Once they got the result, WVN management requested a 2nd test which came back negative, but by that time is was obviously too late.
All speculation though.

as you can see from the stories posted on the home page, there are conflicting WVN stories with one saying there was never a positive in the first place.

I have a lot of thoughts, but this probably is not the best thread for them... hoping for poor WVN's sake that he truly is virus-free and that he will remain healthy.
Indeed even if it doesn't kill you it can be pretty bad....

Featured at Trieste is, by this summer's standards, a loaded women's 800 with 6 sub-2:00 women - 4 of them sub-1:58.5 - namely Muir, Reekie, Buchel, Lamote, Hynne & Hering.
Wayde van Niekerk in the 100 & 400.
