  • Isinbayeva Moving Training Base to Malmö, Sweden

    ISINBAYEVA MOVING TO MALMÖ

Track & Field: In the middle of February, Irina [sic] Isinbayeva is changing bases.
From Volograd in Russia to Malmö in Skåne.

The world:s best pole vaulter on the women:s side, Irina [sic] Isinbayeva, is making her season:s debut in Ukraine:s Donetsk on 12-February - and moving to Malmö direcly after, but not for good.

"She will have Malmö as a base during the indoor season and probably during the summar, too," says the Russian:s agent, Daniel Wessfeldt, who explains that the change of environment is due to several reasons:
    • One, logical: Isinbayeva:s new coach, Vitalij Petrov, has his base in Formia, Italy, and the flight connections there are better from Malmö/Copenhagen.

One, personal: She wanted to try something new, and then Malmö lay nearby with thought to new agent Daniel Wessfeldt:s strong ties to the city - is from there and has his office there.

"It is a good place to train and prepare oneself , and she thinks so, too," says Wessfeldt. "Furthermore, much points to her traveling with us to our South African training camp next year, and I think that is cool. It further raises the level at the camp."

Vitalj Petrov will be with Isinbayeva during her Malmö-stay, as well as Italian pole vaulter Giuseppe Gibilisco (World Championship gold in Paris, 2003). It has been speculated in international media that Irina [sic] Isinbayeva:s close collaboration with the Italian-based coach and Gibilisco is a sign of an upcoming change of nationality. Something Daniel Wessfeldt strongly denies.

"She is Russian, loves Russia and intends to compete for Russia no matter whom she has as a coach, and where she places her base," concludes Wessfeldt.

Hej Observer, what happened to your first login?
I only remember, because we (you and I) were going back-and-forth on the value of this building below, which you kindly told me was alive and thriving :-) :

He'd love to come, but due to his enthusiasm (NOT) for flying, he'll be taking the bus. Which stop should he get off at...?

But of course! Please make the arrangements--the sky's the limit, of course--and charge it to tafnut's credit card. I believe you have all the particulars...

True, those particulars are called USA tax-payer pennies... lots of them.... heard Mr. got a government raise! Do I just send the invoice to Washington, DC? What is the red-tape turn-around time? Or do I charge first and send later?

I was in until I saw you are going cheapo on the popcorn. Why not serve that styrofoam packaging stuff you can get a cut rate deal on? :?

But if you promise to play "Purple Haze" on demand I may reconsider.
