Dadgummit, I finally found a good reason to hate the French -- in the T&FN mail-in contest to pick the most WC medalists, I picked Fouad Chouki in the 1500, Bob Tahri in the steeple, and both let me down (wrong Frenchman in the 1500). And in the 400, I had Blackwood picked, and that damned Marc Raquil knocked him out of bronze by 0.01. After this mess, I need a drink. Anybody have any wine?

Aauugh, they did it to me again! Specifically Raquil with that great anchor. My men's 4x4 picks were US, Jamaica, and Bahamas, and the French slipped into silver. Thankfully, that women's 4x1 result didn't screw me up. Man, I wish I could have been in the stadium to hear that crowd roar. They sounded mighty happy."Run fast and keep turning left."Comment
