Love the photo in part 4 of the group coming up the hill at the NCAA XC Champs!

I haven’t seen any comments on this so I figured I’d put something out there.

i have thoroughly enjoyed it. It is an inspired way to fill in the gaps and to make use of a tremendous amount of stored knowledge.

Thanks to people who came up with the idea and put it out there.

Looks like Cusack and Leddy (East Tennessee) right behind Pre and Bjorkland.

I’d love to see something comparable for say Carl Lewis, Sergei Bubka or Michael Johnson. TF&N has so much historical content to work with. No doubt there are hundreds of good choices. Prefontaine was an inspired first one.

I assume you mean Pre's career. There's obviously some more parts to T&FN series.

Indeed....there is quite a bit left to write about...

I'll just throw my "it's been great so far..." right here. Really has.

Chapter 5 now posted to home page.

Fabulous piece by Kenny Moore (one of the best bits of writing we've ever had). My favorite line:

<<Prefontaine roomed with Lindgren in Stuttgart. Gerry spent much of his time discussing theology with steeplechaser Bob Price. Prefontaine shopped for switchblades to resell to Coos Bay hoods.>>
