Interview with New Mexico Head Coach regarding the NCAA cuts, says everyone is vulnerable (including large schools). He also is very much in favor of getting rid of regionals as a huge cost saving measure, and some other things surrounding the current NCAA situation.

Apologies if this topic is not appropriate, and feel free to delete if so. But regarding the article on the front page about Brown University.

Brown University, If You Were Actually Serious About Racial Justice You Would Not Be Cutting the Men’s Track Team - Brown’s Track and Field team has more Black Men on its roster than Brown’s Lacrosse, Baseball, Hockey, and Crew Teams Combined!

And they are getting A LOT of push back for it. Especially after posting a letter from the Senior leaders about confronting racial justice. with the recent events.

No confirmation yet, but Uconn could be next

According to media reports, the University of Connecticut is laying the groundwork to eliminate multiple sports next month.

Athletic director David Benedict sent up a warning flare last week about cutting sports: “I think that’s going to be a decision that we have to make,” he told the Hartford Courant.

How bad could it get at UConn? Courant columnist Michael Anthony urged the Huskies to drop eight sports, going from 24 to the NCAA Division I FBS minimum of 16.

UTEP has announced that its athletes can begin to return to campus for voluntary workouts.

Limited numbers of student-athletes from cross country, soccer and volleyball will be integrated for voluntary workouts beginning the week of June 22. Limited numbers of student-athletes from men's and women's basketball and track and field will be integrated for voluntary workouts beginning the week of June 29.

But their workouts are subject to restrictions.

Amazing News! This got a lot of momentum after the announcement to cancel and Russell Dinkins' article and petition. So great to see the reversal!

Does this belong in the 'clueless writing' thread?

With men’s track, field and cross country (which are three sports) reinstated
                          Field is a sport!

(yes, they meant indoor, outdoor, and CC)
