Well, if the RNC doesn't thin our herd, this could.

            This is crazy....

“There couldn’t be a better place to hold this event right now than at Florida’s Space Coast,” Goudy said at the time. “The support and commitment we’ve seen at all levels, from Gov. DeSantis to Brevard County local officials, has been impressive. Working together, we are laying a strong, solid foundation for what will be an exciting 54th edition of the AAU Junior Olympic Games.”

Wow. Some stacked fields! I think this would be Sha'Carri Richardson's first race since USA's last year.

Christian Taylor 16.75m at Montverde this morning (that's 54-11.5 for you folks in Yorba Linda).

                    Miller-Uibo 50.52, with Kaylin Whitney a pleasantly surprising 51.99.

                    45.55 win in m400 for GB's Matthew Hudson-Smith. LaShawn Merritt 45.98 in 3rd.

Windy 10.94 (+2.8) for Sha'Carri Richardson in the 100m heats at Montverde.

                      Lyles 9.93/Gatlin 9.99 with a big 4mps breeze.

Ooooooo... Bromell legal (+1.6) 10.04 in the final heat! Beat DeGrasse.

                        e-mail from a fan:

Just finished watching Pasqualetti vault today at the Fourth of July Pole Vault Bash in Basking Ridge, N.J.

Lots of elements against her today as she went 13-3(1), 13-9(1), 14-3(xxx). It was hot (85˚), sunny, and humid at 2:00 PM, versus the dry, evening air at 8:30-9:00 PM a week ago in CA.. She had no competition as she won on her first vault versus having competition at the record height last week. She had no speed and looked listless. I could tell at mid-runway that she would not clear. None of her attempts were close.

Looks like the age-old Florida scourge has intervened at Montverde... storms.
