I have a great idea for major meet distance races. Take the 1500, for example. Let's have the field jog 3 warmup laps together, and then put them in the blocks and have 'em race a 400 straight up. That's not too close to what already happens is it?

Re: New distance format suggestion
I was not going to respond to this but then I just had to. Let's see, they run two 1500's in a few days and then you want them to run a world record on their THIRD 1500 of the week? It is called tactics. I for one love the races where there is pace change and the runners have to rely on themselves (no rabbits) to acheive the goal they are working towards.
