  • Mondo and the 6 meter club

After his latest success in Stockholm, I'm wondering where Mondo stands on the list of 6m performances and meets ... any of our friends have lists of the 6m performers and how many marks and meets each has over that barrier? Thanks in advance

So when Bubka set those WRs he went straight from 5.9x to 6.0x and 6.1x. Never knew that. Or is it possible that he cleared ancillary heights over 6m along the way but they have been lost in the annals of time?

If it’s true that he often went straight from the 5.90s to the 6.10s that’s all the more impressive. I would have thought he would have had vaults at say 6.05 before attempting the WR, just as a sighter

This list is boring :P Lets make a list of how many 20 year olds or younger have cleared 6m haha.

Also, has there ever been another track and field athlete like Mondo? As in, he was setting age world records from 6 onward. Has there every been a track and field athlete that was a prodigy that young and went all the way to the outright WR?

I remember when I first saw that youtube video back then and thought . " aw thats cute,, age WR ... but come on who else is pole vaulting at age 6?" now 14 years later he booms 20'. I just hope Morgunov un-disappears to give Mondo a challenge.
