When reading the Blanka Vlasic retirement story from a Croation news site, I noticed a story about Nicola McDermott, who also has some Croation genes. I don't remember ever knowing this, so it might be new to others in AUS as well.

He's down to compete in CBR, so it will be interesting to see if he can hit high 20s again. If he can do that, it means there's still a chance for a new NR later in the year as he still only turning 27 in April.

Jack Hale did run in Canberra this evening 20 Feb, with a 10.34 +0.3, so that's his best run but still 2 tenths down on what he was running same time last year.
The only other notable to run was 400Her Lauren Boden, also in the 100m, with a 12.00 +1.2 off her PB of 11.83 +1.9 from 2008!

Preview by Athletics Australia of the Summer Super Series in Canberra tomorrow: https://www.athletics.com.au/news/pr...-super-series/
Not super exciting but there are a few interesting match ups. I think the HJ will be the most interesting for both M and W followed by the W800.
The weather is a bit of a worry but a bit of luck should get them through OK. BOM says, "Cloudy. Medium (60%) chance of showers, most likely in the morning and afternoon. The chance of a thunderstorm. Light winds."

My memory of the 11.00 'auto' time was correct (almost).
The race was an invitation event conducted during a 'Shell East Coast & Invitation events' meet held at Melbourne's Olympic Park on 17/18 January 1976.
Though not fully automatic, the times in the 100m & 200m show how close the rivalry between Boyle & Robertson was in early 1976.
I have attached a photo of the results reported in AA. And a cover photo (76 NC 100m finish) that I like a lot.

Ever helpful, ACT Athletics seems to have even removed any link to a start list from the event page

In other news, it seems like Brisvegas is the last city standing to host the 2032 Olympics.
