22.9 = Tick for Connolly on her first run after THAT 100m, so her first one lapper should be a sight to behold. Theoretically, she should be some way off her peak at this stage, so maybe new predictions reqired for later in the year?

In WA Breanna Beahan improves her 100m PB from 11.54 to 11.48 +1.9. More imprortantly, Tayla Cruttenden born 2003, was just 1 hundreth behind, improving from 11.63 +0.6. This puts her in 7th alltime U20 AUS behind Debbie Wells' performance at the Montreal OG as a 15 year old.

                    [edited to add paragraph]
Cruttenden also surpasses Jane Ovenden as WA U20 state record holder trimming .05 off her 11.54 from back in 1992, She still has some way to go to beat Colleen Pekin's open record of 11.24 from 1982.

Apologies for being slow on the uptake with regard to this performance.

I just realised that Ramsden broke a 60 year old WA state record held by one Herb Elliott with 3:35.6 set in Rome on 6 September 1960. I'm not sure what the competition was but it seemed pretty fast for so long ago....

Ramsden also owns the U20 WA state record with 3:42.97 he set in 2016.

Surely Matt broke the WA record with his 3-35.23 in Ostrava and then his 3-34.83 in Zagreb last year? It would still have been a 60yr old record though.

                            Woden?

                            Is that somewhere near Valhalla?

Well, yeah, maybe, dunno. It's weird.

AthleticsWest has a list of records as at 9 December 2020 which still has Herb but also has Ramsdens 5000m record as 13:16.63 on 29 August 2020.

He ran a mile and the two 1500s in the fortnight after the 5k with the last race on 15 September before he moved up in distance. So there's been enough time to process them, especially as they have approved a number of under age records set after that with the latest one on 4 December last year.

They still require athletes to submit a form to apply for a record, so maybe Ramsden missed the 14 day deadline for those runs?

Whatever happened, he should be getting credit for at least this one.

BTW, he also smashed the allcomer's record (fastest time ever in WA), surpassing Youcef Abdi's 3:39.65 from 2004.

Not near, it's IN Valhalla, otherwise known as the continent of Australia. Don't they teach basic facts in NZ schools anymore?
