Except that Muhammad Ali had Olympic gold and the world title belt, whereas she doesn't even have a national title, so her words right now are like a mouse squeaking in the closet.

Seriously? Ali was that way well before his gold in Rome ok? Stop searching for an excuse to bully a 21 year old woman simply because she's not a phony or acts the way you want her to....btw most of American(and you know what I mean) despised Ali.

So if she murdered someone, you'd slough it off as a youthful act and tell folks to relax?
She's 21, an adult, and probably was brought up to be nice to others.
Some bravado is entertaining (Think Ali, Prefontaine!), hers isn't!
Especially coming moments after a much beloved icon of the sport just became the 2nd fastest woman of all time!!
Not surprising all the attacks on her!
              SHE needs to relax!!

The murderer analogy...unworthy of a reply.
                Equating Prefontaine with Ali...laughable.

                • Great day for two young Central American women in the Race Walking today at the prestigious Gran Premio Cantones in La Coruรฑa (WA Race Walking Challenge).

A big breakthrough in the 20km for the reigning World U20 champion Alegna Gonzalez (MEX), chasing down Erica de Sena (BRA) for 2nd place and her first sub-1:30 with 1:28:40 behind winner Sandra Arenas (COL), 1:28:24.
Also a big 2m 25s PB for young Noelia Vargas (CRC) in 5th, 1:30:44, crucially under the 1:31 Olympic standard.

Glenda Morejon (ECU), who caused a sensation in winning this race 2 years ago in 1:25:29, hasn't quite been able to back that up since then. She was 4th today with another 1:29 clocking.

In a close finish to the Men's race Perseus Karlstrom (SWE) had his 7 race winning streak broken by Diego Garcia (ESP), 1:19:37 to 1:19:44.

There was a terrific live stream for this by the way - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyDGYYFPboA

If you're not entertained, that's on you. Not on her. She is a breath of fresh air.

Have you ever seen video of M Ali when he was Cassius Clay? He was brash, annoying, outspoken, considered out of his element for a young Negro...how old was he...btw Sha'Carri Richardson has accomplished exactly what she set out to accomplish: getting a bunch of old(er) men all in a tizzy because she is brash, annoying to some and an outspoken young woman. And, an aside to arronk, you need to retract your totally out of line comment about being a murderer.

And she will make the Women's Olympic 100 even that much more entertaining ๐Ÿ˜€

                          • Alexandra Burghardt won the GER 100m title in 11.14, a PB, ahead of the more fancied Lisa Mayer, 11.16.

Burghardt changed coaches a couple of years ago but has suffered injuries. She was a very good junior and is finally showing her potential.

Shes entered in the 200m tomorrow as well.

As of today, SCR is an outstanding talent but a talent who hasn't achieved much of anything yet, compared to SAFP, ETH, DAS and Schippers.

And as for Ali, as Cassius Clay he won Olympic Gold, he won the heavyweight championship of the world when he beat Liston.

Being brash and outspoken when you have achieved is one thing, but when you haven't won anything it is eye ball rolling territory.

However, in 2 months time that may have all changed if she wins 1, 2 or 3 golds.

                              • Trash talking is fine and I agree it adds to the atmosphere around the competition. It's just that this tweet was so badly timed, responding to a lifetime performance of a rival who is the opposite of a trash talker, respects her competition and is always smiling, win or lose. It really struck a bum note to me. Just my opinion.
