  • Men's LJ final - Paris

Well after two rounds the leader is 26'8".

We could have a stinkarewski-in-the-making here.

Out of 24 attempts, there have been 11 fouls.

Doesn't really surprise me. There have only been 16 men this year over 27, and none over 28.

But the lead changes make it interesting. Four, so far. Phillips at 8.22 now.

Phillips has stretched it out to a mind-bending 26'11 1/2" in Round 3

Looks like they're hitting the board a little better than in the first two rounds...

No LJ in the WC/OG has been won as short as 8.22 since 1964.

4th round Phillips fouls again. He better get it together cuz 8.22 is not going to hold up. Either Beckford or Lamela is going to pop one.

Lamella equals Phillips, and has a better backup jump so takes the lead...

there it is. Lamela takes the lead matching Phillips 8.22 and a better 2nd jump.

Re: Men's LJ final - Paris

All right so Beckford final goes over the 27-ft barrier with a 27'-1 3/4"

COME ON----there are at least six out of these final 8 so-called athletes who should be fully capable of putting one out in the UPPER 27-footer range!!!

You are correct, sir! Beckford 8.28! Good call.

Phillips 27' 3 1/2" takes the lead back.

All right now I want to seem some REAL falutin' fireworks in the final round.

                          Enough of this pussyfootin'!!!

And another lead change, back to Phillips. Fine with me so far -- Phillips and Lamela were two of my medal picks. Damn that Stringfellow.
