          Actually, apart from Birmingham, there aren't too many international meets planned for this week. I can only suppose promoters don't want to compete with the Olympics for fan interest.

              Yes, I was aware of that one - that's why I said there weren't too many meets, not that there weren't any. My point is that there are fewer big meets scheduled for the next 2 weeks than there have been in the last 2 weeks, and I presume the scheduling is due to the Olympics (though I guess the fact that most national indoor championships take place on one of the following 2 weekends also plays a part).

                Yeah, you're probably right, the 'quiet' spell is because of the Olympics
