Did you watch the race? They will be lucky if that time stands. There was clear cheating in the race: Nigeria B team went from the outside to the inside lane after 250m on leg 1, splitting 44.5, with the clear intention of giving the A team something to chase. They know the B team will be DQed but it was the serve a purpose. Then on leg 4, the B anchor slowed right down coming up to 200m - because they were so far ahead - to allow the A team anchor to catch up. Not only that, but none of the 2nd leg runners were even in the right spot to take the baton, so they should all be DQed.

    • With Little missing the team, a spot just "opened up" based on what many of us were predicting for the relay. (maybe she should have run the 400m!)

IMO, Mu, Sydney, Felix are safe. Hayes, Jonathas, maybe Muhammad, are all in the conversation for the final.

      • Hayes, winner of the open 400, is only in the conversation?

agree; that's pretty hard to imagine

She won, in a great time, confirming her 49 in the spring. Yeah, she's in BEFORE Felix, who . . . is in.

            • I would go Hayes to Felix to Jonathas to Mu, assuming all make it through their open events healthy.

Why would you leave McLaughlin off? She should be the first choice if it isn't Mu.

I'm okay with Mu on scratch leg or anchor but I still don't trust her in traffic.

Mu(least experience) Felix, McLaughlin, Hayes...I don't think there will be any traffic 😉

The second leg may have to deal with traffic and maybe the third leg. Felix has recieved the baton in 2nd place on some of her 2nd leg carries.

True...but she is the most experienced and reliable.

                        • Hayes-Felix-McLaughlin-Mu is the most likely team. But well see who is actually selected.

THAT is the rub! Individual PRs are great, but having all FOUR running them on the same day . . . very difficult!

                            • There is only one order:

Fastest 400 meter runner - Hayes or Jonathas

Syd - she is the fastest on the team and could split 48.5 or better which puts the team up by 5-10 meters

Mu - she has no worries about blocks or traffic and her leg of 48.5 or 49.0 slays the remainder of the competition.

Felix - we all know she will be on there and she is too slow to run second leg anymore. With this team the anchor is ceremonial. Let the many pictures of her daughter commence.
