  • U.S. XC Championships Course

I noticed that the course consists of one 2km loop so the 12km runners will do it 6 times. I am not familiar with the course, but it appears there is a hill a little before the half-way point of the loop. I'm sure there are many people familiar with the course who can shed some insight into the difficulty of the course.

Is this "2k loop, 6 times" the standard approach ? Reason I ask, is that 's the way it was here in Indy 2 years ago. Fresh in my thoughts, because I just ran that Indy course today ( 3 loops enough for me ).

There is a hill, known as freshman hill, about halfway through the course the way it is set up for this race. The map mentions Cemetary hill but that is not being used for this race.

Other than that hill, for which there is a drop right along the HH Parkway to get back to the flats, the course is pretty flat. There are little rises throught the cowpath but that's about it.
