Very good question....I've seen no news....though the governor has been optimistic lately.

I signed up as a volunteer...

Her optimism and a quarter will get you a cup of coffee. A small cup.

Starting tomorrow, counties in Oregon will be allowed to move to Lower COVID risk category if 65% of their (I assume eligible) population has been vaccinated. As of yesterday, Lane County was sitting at 60%, not sure, as we've wondered, if that includes all the students who will be leaving town in early June. At the High level they are at now, outdoor sporting event-type gatherings max out at 15% capacity, 25% at Moderate, 50% at Lower.

With 2 big meets coming up, I'll the governor is hearing an earful from the Eugene hotel and restaurant owners.

Why is that so odd? They aren't at the same time....

On a slightly related topic, it appears no tickets are being sold for West Regionals at TxAm, but they are selling tickets for East Regional at UNFlorida. Given seating is 9400 at UNF versus 2200 at TxAM, maybe that is not a surprise.

NYTimes... if they check for vaccination cards Hayward is good to go...

Gov. Kate Brown, a Democrat, said last week that Oregonians who were fully vaccinated no longer needed to wear masks in most public settings, except in places like schools, public transit and health care settings.

But she quickly noted that businesses would have “the option” of lifting mask requirements only if they instituted verification. “Some businesses may prefer to simply continue operating under the current guidance for now rather than worrying about vaccination status, and that’s fine,” she said.
