He looks so . . . tentative. Wouldn't he get a kick out of seeing last night's competition!
Wiki says some Europeans threw with it in the 50s.

Am I missing something, why is Duplantis being discussed in this lineup? (great athlete though he is). I’d have Zango as my third pick behind Vetter and Crouser. Indoor WR and 6th best all-time beats Mondo IMO

I had it in my head that Zango had a loss.... he most def. belongs in the conversation.

and in gh-world, where going undefeated can be a big factor, Mondo just dropped a notch

Maybe this thread should start again, we haven’t even mentioned Holloway!

If the season truly did end today, Crouser's 75-6 just iced it for him.

While I’m sure he will astonish us in the coming weeks, his current performances are still somewhat mundane,

IMO, a loss in the PV in those conditions can be forgiven.

.... if choosing a men's AOY I'd have a tough time sorting out Crouser, Duplantis & Vetter
                      and now.....

Luckily the season has a long way to go (and is not based 96% on the US trials), so all these fantasies will probably be laughed about in a few weeks.

                                My thinking--
The SP, then DT, then HT--in order of general popularity of events.
                                They're all deserving!
As for Thomas & Syd, Gabby's time is 2nd only to Flojo!
Whatever one may think of Flojo's '88 season, that's impressive!
                                Syd's WR was expected!
And look back at all our comments over the past 2-3 years--many of us actually listed "51.90" as the time we thouight she'd run!
So when she actually DID run that exact time, it was not a shock--at least not to me!
Same as when Mondo clears 20-0 nowadays--no shock, to be expected.
That's why I picked Thomas over Syd!
