Two perfect ways to get the 13:08 CR--
    1. Kiptoo goes out in his usual 1st mile of 4:05, and makes Hocker & Teare paranoid enough to chase him!
    2. Hocker & Teare work as a team for the first 4K--trading off the lead every lap or two, then going all out for the win--and Voila, you have a CR!

#1 is more likely but probably H&T work as a team in the second half of the race to eat into Kiptoo's lead. You may still get a fast time but it will be determined by how fast Kiptoo wants to push the pace.

Hocker can't be at full strength after that 1500, can he?

Fun race with many leaders and solid pacing. Teare had too much for the other two.

Also an Olympic standard for Teare.

School record for Teare, besting Bill McChesney's 13:14 from 1982

Top 12 all ran their PBs, thanks to the 13th runner who didn't.

Unusual that Isaac Green of Greenville, who ran a pb 13:27.26 in 12th is listed by his college as a jumper/sprinter
