Glad to see that someone has told Joyce Kimeli that she's not Beatrice Chepkoech! No 2:57 or 3:02 first kilometre this time.

Six women sub-9:43 in the first semi. Women's steepling has really taken off in the NCAA in the last 2 or 3 years!

      ... And 6 sub-9:40 in the second.

That must easily be a "depth record" at the NCAAs.

If my Record Book is correct, then Ceili McCabe broke the Frosh Class Record with her 9:39.27.
She'll be in the final, so will have a chance to better that time!

Great race. No mention of Wayment's trouble at the water jump but constant talk for 9:31 minutes which said nothing.

It's nothing new on ESPN! Jill Montgomery is the worst - she speaks 50% cliches and 50% nonsense!

Great story on Norris. Took note of her after I saw FB story on her indoor and xc champs success. She looked focused the entire time and in great position and covered every move.
Only ran event four times before NCAA finals.

Norris was 4th in the NCAA CC race, 4th at the NCAA Indoor - she lost to Kimeli in the 5,000 indoors and had her revenge in the steeple - and won the steeple.

My sense (not based on much looking) is that the field is deeper and a favorite is less so given how many good performances there were - and Waymont was the only one who did not PR; maybe she did not need to but she certainly did not look dominant in the Semis

She also stumbled out of the final water jump so she didn't have an opprotunity to finish the way she would've wanted. I'm not saying she would win. This is likely one of the tougher events to predict as many of the women are newish to the event.

Norris had one of my favorite performances of the meet. Great finish and love to see the AFA colors flying!

Was this the only winner not on top 10 form charts? Great win!
