I would not be surprised if the team is Centro, Hocker and Nuguse. Other than Centro, none of the pros have looked impressive so far.

      • So I;m thinking.....take that all of you who play this long NCAA season,,,,,thing.

How many NCAAers on the team? A dozen or so?

Not sure where you got the age of 28. Sounds like your anecdotal experience presented as fact. There may be athletes that can handle that load, but heavy training interspersed with racing over a long period of time (NCAA season) seems like a less than ideal training plan when someone wants to have their best performances at the WC and Olympics.

That's easy . . . some spectacular Gold performances, some crash-and-burns, some new stars ascend, some old ones fade out, we'll easily win the medal count, and there will some kind of publicity brouhaha . . . same as always.

OK...I'll take a shot...events where, IMHO, USA has ANY chance at a gold medal:
Men: 100, 200, 400, 800, 110H, 400H, 4x1 relay, 4x4 relay, LJ, HJ, SP, PV, HT, TJ...obviously, some much better chance than others
Women: 100, 200, 400 (no longer after today), 800, 1500 (major surprise) 3000s (major surprise, 4x1, 4x4, mixed 4x4, LJ, SP, PV, HT, DT , Heptathlon?: love Annie Kunz but she would need another big PB...again, some much better chance than others.

With Thiam and KJT iffy, who's demonstrably better than the Americans?

                    Men

                    'A' chance of USA Gold - 100, 200, 400, 110H, 400H, HJ, SP, 4x1, 4x4
                    B - 800, PV, LJ, HT
                    C - 1500 (assuming J Inge is 100%), TJ, Dec
                    No - 3000St, 5000, 10000, Mar, Walks, DT, JT

                    Women

                    A - 800, 100H, 400H, PV, LJ, HT, Hep
                    B - 100, 200, 400, HJ
                    C - 1500, 3000St, TJ
No - 5000, 10000, Mar, Walk, SP, DT, JT

                        And the "OT" has now been fully embraced. (What? . . . . Ohhh . . . . )

Actually I took the initial question to mean "how will the 1500 guys do?" but I was the exception.

Me too and I was the one asking the question. How will the US men’s 1500 guys do?
