If Rudy follow the "form" and medals, Does he become the undisputed all-time USA hammer GOAT over Lance Deal, or does he have to win Gold to do that ?

HC is the one. Deal second, but a gold here (possible, not probable) will arguably put RW ahead of Deal.

how can Deal rate ahead of John Flanagan?

3 Oly golds, 20-odd WRs (all in the pre-IAAF era)

Fajdek would like that second attempt back.

Certainly he's not going to bomb out in Qualifying. The commentators keep talking about his OG 'failure'.

The accolades are there, but the lack of competition nation-wide and world-wide makes it difficult to rate him.

Young pretty much certainly out, only 11th with a group still to go

Fajdek really on the edge but should be fine. Though it would not be a surprise to see him miss the final, considering he has never made an Olympic final.
