      • We really doing this tumbling conversation again? Tumbling like a round off, back handspring into a jump would be incredibly efficient in converting horizontal speed into vertical lift. Make the rule against touching your hands to the high jump apron and your elimination that approach. I don’t know if a running to two footed front dive over the bar would be more successful than a flop, but back tumbling on tartan could probably get 8’ pretty easily from the right athlete.

            Then why has no one ever done it? Certainly Youtube would be replete with people doing it.
