Spanovic appears to be back in business and is one of the most consistent jumpers I've ever seen.

Can't exactly call Davis' jump a safety - I think she'll need more than that to get top 8,

              Round 3:
Brittney Reese takes the lead with 6.97m based on a better 2nd jump than Brume

Bekh-Romanchuk clutch jump of 6.88m moves her into 5th position.

Tara Davis improves to 6.81m, but that only gets her in 7th place.

hope not. Betting not. The field is so tightly bunched I would expect to start seeing the jumps get better and better. I LOVE
Tara and I hope she comes good, but inexperience on this stage showing. Hopefully with 3 more jumps she can find a biggie to get her on the podium .

On a related note, am I the only one who would prefer to see NBC focus more on Tara than on Allison Felix? Besides Tara’s story being interesting, Allison’s has been overdone.

Can Davis keep improving in Rounds 5 & 6?

Ese Brume takes the lead on count back with 6.88m!

And Reese very close with 6.87m.

Despite no one over 7m yet, this is a pretty good competition.

Once again, an Aussie busts the form chart apart.

Well done Brooke Stratton on your consecutive top-8 finishes at an Olympics.

Wow ... talk about close for gold right now. Here's hoping Resse can let loose with a 7 meter plus jump.

Shes atleast being consistent 6.81m, 6.84m, 6.83m. One last chance for her to hit something big.

Well, to be fair, she was just . . . down under . . . it

That was the jump but she left it off the board.
